All overnight campers stay overnight in the Duke University dorms on West Campus. Dorms are within walking distance of the training fields as well as the student center and Duke Chapel. Please note — Many dorm rooms have full-sized beds. We will include this information in a camp logistics email once we have dorm assignments so you know what size linens to bring.
Air Conditioning |
All dorm rooms in use for camp will have air conditioning. |
Camp Bank |
We provide an optional camp bank. You can deposit money for your camper to use throughout camp at the camp store (the usual amount is somewhere between $20-$60). Your camper may use the camp bank money on pizza, snacks, or apparel. Camp bank money does not work at the Duke Bookstore, but your camper may withdraw her funds at any time to use elsewhere. If you are interested in using the camp bank, please see the bank station at check in. Unused camp bank money will be returned to you at Check Out. |
Camp Store |
We will have a camp store open in the dorm during down time. Campers can purchase pizza (whole or by the slice), snacks, Gatorade, water, and Duke soccer apparel. |
Dorm Supervisors |
Members of the Duke Soccer School staff will be on hand at all times in the dorms, including dorm supervisors and an athletic trainer. Dorms supervisors are most often members of the greater Duke Athletics staff as well as female camp coaches and current members of the Duke soccer team. Staff rooms are clearly labelled should their assistance be needed. |
Key Deposit |
There is a $125.00 key deposit due at registration. The deposit will be returned in exchange for your camper’s key at check out. Please make the key deposit check payable to Duke Soccer School for Girls and write your camper’s name on the memo line. In the event a camper loses their key, the deposit will be used to replace the lock. Once your camper’s key is returned at Check Out, we will return your key deposit check. |
Refrigerators & Microwaves |
Our dorms rooms do not include refrigerators or microwaves. However, you will have access to the common room fridge and microwave. |
Roommates |
Dorms sleep two to a room and campers are assigned roommates based on their request during the registration process. If you are attending camp as part of a group/team, let us know in advance if you’d like to room as a block. If you’re not coming with a roommate, we will assign a roommate of similar age. If you would like to change/add your roommate, we must be notified at least one week prior to check in to accommodate the request. |
